The Dish
CLAYTON’S GRILLED FISH AND CHIPS with seasonal veg, with white wine sauce £28.00 (£££)
If you’re looking for an exceptional take on the classic fish and chips, look no further than Clayton’s Kitchen. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying CLAYTON’S GRILLED FISH AND CHIPS, and it was nothing short of extraordinary.
The dish features beautifully grilled sea bass, accompanied by crispy golden chips, fresh seasonal vegetables, and a luscious white wine sauce. The sea bass was perfectly cooked—moist, flavorful, and with a slightly crisp exterior that complemented the rich, white wine sauce. The chips were just the right balance of crunchy and soft, while the seasonal vegetables added a vibrant, fresh note to the plate. Every bite felt carefully crafted to balance textures and flavors.
The setting itself is charming—Clayton’s Kitchen is housed in a traditional Georgian townhouse, which adds an elegant, cozy atmosphere to the dining experience. The friendly and attentive staff made us feel right at home, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the meal. It’s clear that both the food and service are held to a high standard.
Clayton’s Kitchen has quickly become our favourite spot to dine in Bath, and the grilled Fish & Chips is incredibly moreish! Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this is the place to indulge in elevated British cuisine with a warm, welcoming vibe. I can’t recommend it enough!
